Balance & Well Being

There’s a quiet rhythm in my life that begins each morning, not with emails or meetings, but with my hands in the soil. Gardening, for me, started as a hobby. A way to pause. But over time, it became something deeper, my sanctuary, my teacher, and my mirror.

Every day, I step into my little garden and connect with something real. Sometimes I’m celebrating tomatoes that finally grew after weeks of coaxing. Other times, I’m shaking my head at wilted spinach that didn’t make it. Both experiences, success and failure, have taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of showing up every day, even when the results aren’t immediate.

What I learned in the garden made its way into how I lead at work. Whether navigating tough conversations or solving complex challenges, I’ve found strength in staying grounded. Nature doesn’t rush, yet everything gets done, and that wisdom has deeply shaped how I strive to find balance in all aspects of life.

Recently, though, life threw me a curveball. I had an unexpected eye health issue that forced me to slow down. At first, I was frustrated. But then… it became a gift. Two weeks of no screens, no back-to-back calls, just long walks in the morning breeze, tea in the garden with my favorite podcast, quiet moments in the garden. I wasn’t “doing” much, but I was healing. Resting. Reconnecting.

It made me realize something that feels important to share: you don’t have to wait for a health scare to put yourself first. We shouldn’t need a crisis to remind us to breathe.

Balance, I’ve come to believe, isn’t just a nice-to-have. It’s the very root of sustained success. Whether it’s food, relationships, work, finances, or self-love, these aren’t distractions from achievement. They are the foundation for it.
So if you’re reading this, whether you're at ServiceNow or beyond, I hope you find a moment this week to reconnect with what brings you joy. Maybe it’s capturing the bird in your camera. Maybe it’s cooking an amazing meal or reading a book or it is running/walking, or spending time with your pet or it is finding the constellations in sky, or a project with your child or chai with parents or maybe it’s just doing absolutely nothing.
Whatever it is, do it for you.
Because nurturing your personal passions doesn't take away from your professional power, it fuels it.
Here’s to balance.
Here’s to well-being.
Here’s to you.
